Practice at Home

There haven't been many opportunities to practice my photography this winter, but I have been learning and experimenting with indoor lighting and also trying to use the "rule of thirds," which I finally figured out! My daughter doesn't like being a model for me, but she humored me for a few minutes while she played with some balloons in her room. We were stuck inside on a snow day and I tried to get her to face the window as often as possible. This didn't last long. I can't wait for Spring!!! :)

Oh Christmas Tree

One of my favorite life-long Christmas traditions is going to cut down our own tree from my parent's farm. Addison had a blast picking out a tree and throwing snow balls.Thankfully, she inherited her mother's aim. ;)
I hope that everyone is enjoying the holiday season and cherishing every moment with their loved ones!

First Snow

My friend Alexis, a very talented photographer, allowed me the honor of photographing her while having some fun with our first real snow of the year. Of course, in a few weeks we will be sick of the white stuff, but it's pretty in beginning. Thanks Lex for being a good sport about it and putting up with my corny-self. :)

My first newborn photo shoot!

My friend Meagen's sister is a beautiful new mom, with an adorable new baby, and of course I was excited (and nervous) to try my hand at newborn photography with them! It involved a lot of experimenting, especially with doing the photos inside, using window light. I'm happy with the results and I hope I get a chance to do it again! Meet the amazing cutie, Dante:

Sarah and Hannah

It means so much to have friends who believe in me and encourage me in my goal to develop my photography skills! My beautiful friend Sarah asked me to take photos of her and her daughter Hannah, and I was thrilled. Check these gorgeous girls out...

Two adorable sisters, having fun on a very cold and windy day! It was a great experience and I thank them and their parents for being such good sports about the whole thing! And as a added bonus... I got to catch up with an old friend. :)
